 No. Affirm is a buy-now, pay-later service and is separate from other instalment providers. Affirm issues a loan directly - you apply at checkout, a soft credit check is performed (which does not affect your credit score), and repayment plans of up to 24 months are available. You do not need an existing credit card; Affirm can be used with a debit card or bank account.
